Odds and Ends

Hello! Well, we got our first real and lasting snowfall of the season. It's snowed 3 or 4 times since. We probably have about 5 inches total. Bear was outta hand when he first got out in it. It's almost impossible to walk him after a fresh snowfall - he just wants to run through the drifts and piles. It's kinda cute, gets pretty annoying after awhile.

So I'm working on a puzzle. I don't care if that's gay or not, I like it. Justin makes fun of me, but that's ok. It's good for the brain. Soon, mine's gonna be so big my skull will hardly be able to hold it. Anyway, this is what it looks like. I started it this past week.

I found this kuchen recipe in my new Taste of Home mag, so I decided to try it out. It's pretty good! Not bad at all for my first attempt. There are a few things I would tweak next time. Justin really likes it, so that's good. Here's what it looks like, it's cinnamon peach.

We decorated for Christmas today! We actually decided to get a big tree this year. It's a 7.5 footer. It's really pretty, I'm so glad we finally shelled out the cash for a nice one. It really gets me in the Christmas spirit; I can't believe it's coming so fast.

Pre-decorations

Decorated!
Lit up!

So, after the Vikings game last Sunday, Justin slammed his finger in the car door. The next day it swelled up so bad he had to go to the dr to have them drain it. I suppose many of you have read about it already on his blog, but I'll post a few pics on mine as well. He said the pain has started to go away, but I'm sure he'll lose the nail. Eeewww.

Justin in pain as he pulls the bandaid off, Bear thinking Dad has something for him

The damage - this was one wk ago, now the nail is completely black

Tonight we wanted to get the dogs together to play. Well, Justin and I were both feeling lazy, so we thought "I wonder if we just opened the door if he'd run over to Guinness' house?" So we called up Kelly and had her stand at her door and call him over. He bolted right over there! We then wondered if we could get him to come back over here after they were done playing. She let him out the door, we called him from our porch, and he came running home like a good pup. We're proud of our boy - he's growing up so fast - going over to his friend's house all by himself. ;)
Oh, one more thing: Bear fell asleep on my laptop on Friday night. It was really cute; here are a few pics.

Happy Holidays! See you soon!

Great pics (except the one of Justin's grody finger)!

Your tree looks lovely (it's huge!), and I love the picture of your back deck furniture -- very artsy indeed.

Bear is too funny! We're getting our new laptop delivered today, and Jack's not coming within 100 feet of it. He'd eat it. (Kaya is not a worry.) =)

See you soon!

Oh, such a beautiful puzzle you're doing! So, where do you keep it so the Bearcifer can't get ahold of it?

That's so cute about Bear and Guinness. Isn't it nice to have a friend right across the street? It's especially good for the winter so you guys don't have to actually walk him out there in the snow and cold.

The kuchen looks delish! I can't wait for mom's. I suppose I better help her make it sometime soon if I want to have it for Christmas.

I sure hope Justin is okay. That actually looked pretty painful. I'm sure he was crying for a few days, huh?

BTW, I picked the Christmas Story as my favorite but was really hoping I could pick another one cuz 'Rudolph' is a classic. Gotta love that one too!

Frosty the Snowman is the best!

E: What kind of laptop did you get? They are so wonderful. You know, the new Macbook might be Jack-proof - ha, that kinda rhymed. Don't judge me.

B: Ah, yes, the puzzle goes in the office with the door closed during worky. He'd prob actually just leave it alone, but I'm not taking that chance! Justin said his finger doesn't really hurt anymore, so that's good. Although I believe deformation is still inevitable!

Z: That's an acceptable answer. I am still trying to decide for myself, so I have not voted yet.

I would like to know who else voted for 'other' on the poll besides Zanthia. You know, a stipulation of choosing 'other' is disclosing what you are choosing instead.

Sara, I'm innocent on this one.

Sara, your blogs are great - the pics are super and you have such a great attitude! Don't worry, Bren. You'll get compliments too. Can't wait to see you...and to get my Fundies for Christmas!

Love ya!
